According to the latest ESET Threat Report, email threats grew by 37 percent in the first four months of the year compared to the last four months of 2021. This was also the largest spike in this category since 2020. The peak came in March and was in part fueled by the resurgence of the Emotet botnet that spewed out vast amounts of emails with malicious attachments.
